1. What is the Lakewood Service League?
The Lakewood Service League was organized in 1982 to further the economic, educational and cultural condition of Lakewood and the immediate East Dallas Community. The League's members accomplish these goals through volunteer service hours and fundraising projects. Over the past twenty-three years, the Lakewood Service League has distributed nearly one million dollars and the members have volunteered more than 100,000 service hours in support of the east Dallas community.
2. Walk and Wag is a charity event - which charity benefits?
Proceeds from Walk, Wag & Run will benefit the YMCA of White Rock and For The Love of the Lake. YMCA of White Rock www.whiterockymca.org has earmarked funds raised at the Walk, Wag and Run for its scholarship program which provides childcare, summer camp, youth sports programs and general membership to deserving families in the area. For The Love of the Lake www.whiterocklake.org will apply its proceeds toward the upgrading the fish hatchery entrance at the southwest end of White Rock Lake. FTLOTL's enthusiastic and energetic group of volunteers is dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of White Rock Lake as an urban oasis and since 1995 have scoured the shores for trash, installed recycling bins, water fountains and benches and most recently started working with the Dallas Parks department to add trees to the parks aging forests.

3. Is a portion of my registration fee a donation?
Absolutely. All proceeds from Walk, Wag and Run will go to the designated charity and thus are tax-deductible.
4. What happens if it rains?
No refunds will be given once entry has been purchased and no refunds will be given for the event's cancellation due to inclement weather.
5. How do I enter my pet in the pet contests?
Register your pet before the event online or day of event. Registration fee entry entitles you to participate in all Pet Contests and Camp Canine (activities along the 3k Dog Walk). Also included is admission donation to the event and a door prize ticket for drawings held every hour. A valuable doggie prize bag is also included in your registration. You can enter BOTH the Pet Contests and the Races online or day of event.
6. How do I enter the 3K Dog Walk?
Register for the 3k Dog walk before the event online or register at the event. On-line registration ends Friday at noon, October 24th prior to the event. Included with the registration is the admission to the event and kids fair. Drawings for door prizes will be held every hour.
7. How do I register for the 5K or 10k Run, 3K Dog Walk or Kids Fair?
Go to the "Register" button which will forward you to the appropriate registration process. For the 5k run and the 10k run, you will be directed to the "SignMeUp" secure website where you can complete the registration form and input your credit or debit card information. You will be guided through the registration process. Once your transaction is complete, you will receive a confirmation email and receipt. For the Dog Walk and Halloween Kids Fair, you will be directed to another registration page and will use PayPal to pay for your on-line registration. Note that PayPal accepts all major credit cards, a PayPal account and bank drafts.

8. What if I want to bring more than one dog?
Please do! There is an additional $5 registration fee for additional people or pets. The additional fee covers all events and you receive a valuable doggie prize bag per registration!
9. Can I come to Walk and Wag even if I don't have a dog?
Of course! There is plenty to see and do at Walk, Wag and Run without a pet - you can run or walk in the 5K or 10k Race, you can visit our arts and crafts booths, take your kids to the Howl-O-Ween Kids Fair, watch all kinds of great pet contests, listen to great music, check out the entertainment at the main stage, the dog events stage and the kids fair stage as well as taste some goodies from local restaurants.
10. What is Camp Canine?
Camp Canine is the 7 stations activity course that will placed along the 3k Dog Walk path. This course includes specially designed activities that will prove lots of fun for both dog owner and pet. There will be "goodies" at each station in addition to what is given out in the "doggie bag."
11. What is the Howl-O-Ween Kid's Fair all about?
Entertain your kids for hours! The Howl-O-Ween Kid's Area features two bounce houses (age appropriate), a gymnastic obstacle course, petting zoo, Halloween costume contests, trick or treating, face painting, and a pumpkin patch. Children must be attended by an adult.
12. Run Your Tail Off 5K and 10k Race - Race Official Rules
Check-in will start at 7:30 am and will continue until 8:45 am. No one is allowed to run unless checked in at the Registration Desk. Runners will start ahead of runners with dogs and runners with baby strollers and all walkers. No roads or other traffic ways will be blocked off. Obey the rules of the road. If at any time a runner or his or her dog is judged by our staff to be physically or mentally unfit to continue, that runner and the dog will either rest until considered fit or be assisted to the finish area. Please help our staff by following their advice. All runners must carry some form of I.D., including an emergency contact number. Every minor must carry a consent for medical care form signed by a parent or guardian. A Participant Waiver must be agreed to online or signed and submitted by each runner and by the parent/guardian of runners under the age of 18. Water stations will be located throughout the run course and at the race conclusion. Light snacks and fruit will be provided at race conclusion. Restroom facilities will be provided for your use. The 5k run and 10k will commence, rain or shine. Stick around for great food, entertainment and shopping!

13. Walk, Wag and Run Dog Vaccination and Health Requirements:
For your dog's safety, participation is open only to dogs who are accustomed to regular exercise and who will adjust well to a noisy environment with large numbers of other dogs. Use good judgment regarding the temperament of your dog so this event will be enjoyable for everyone. Do not bring your dog if it is unpredictable in crowds, with other dogs, and/or with strangers. All dogs should be under control at all times and on a leash 6' or shorter. All dogs must be current on vaccinations. No dogs in heat. No aggressive dogs. No dogs under six months of age. Dogs and people only - no other animals. We reserve the right to remove from the run or event in general any dog that our staff feels is posing a threat to the safety of other dogs or is physically unfit to continue the run. Water and bowls will be provided for your dog at the event. Doggie waste bags will be provided at the event. Please help keep our park clean.

By submitting this registration form and participating in Walk Wag & Run, Walk and Wag, Run Your Tail Off race, and Halloween Kids Fair, I for myself and on behalf of my pets, children, agents, employees, representatives, heirs, successors, assigns, insurers and family members, and all persons and entities affiliated or in privity with them, release and forever discharge the Lakewood Service League and its members in their individual capacities, the City of Dallas and all sponsors and officials and any of their present and former agents, employees, representatives, officers, directors, shareholders, partners, parent and subsidiary companies, affiliates, heirs, successors, assigns, family members and attorneys, and all persons or entities affiliated or in privity with them (the “Released Parties”), of and from any and all past, present or future lawsuits, claims, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses and causes of action of any kind or character whatsoever, whether direct or indirect, whether now known or unknown, whether or not yet alleged or asserted, or whether liquidated or unliquidated arising out of my participation in the Walk Wag & Run. I hereby acknowledge and agree that this release applies regardless whether any claimed injury is caused by the negligence of the Released Parties. I further agree that I assume the risk of any and all injury and/or damage to me, my children, my pets or my property arising out of my participation in the Walk Wag & Run. Finally, I hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties of and from all demands or claims made against any or all of them by any person or entity claiming through me or on my behalf or on behalf of my pets, children, agents, employees, representatives, heirs, successors, assigns, and family members.
